For seven years Barbados presented the Food Wine and Rum Festival in November. In 2016 the event was renamed the Barbados Food and Rum Festival. Barbados is a rum producing island so it is only fitting that we show case our world-famous brew! This year, the Barbados Food and Rum Festival will run from November 16th to 19th 2017.
At the 8th edition of the Barbados Food and Rum Festival experience a sophisticated, high-quality and upscale celebration of gastronomic art featuring acclaimed international & local world class chefs, rum experts and mixologists.
The lineup includes; the Thursday Festival Opening with the Oistins Bay Gardens Cook Off; The Signature Rum Event with food and rum pairings on Friday November 17th; the Saturday afternoon Polo Rum Spirits, and canapes; the fine dining events on Saturday night which pair international chefs with local top chefs; on Sunday the festival climaxes with a Beach Party at the Hilton Resort Barbados along with a final fine dinning dinner at the Tides Restaurant featuring UK Master Chef – Chef Tom Aikens.
Chefs Jean-Georges, Tom Aikens, John Hazzard, Michael Hinds, Damian Leach, Chris De La Rosa, Henderson Butcher, Creig Greenidge and Michael Harrison will be showing off their culinary expertise.
